Ahead of the Chung Yeung Festival holiday, Hong Kong banks will suspend settlement services from Saturday, October 17 to Monday, October 19, 2026. Fiat deposits and withdrawals involving Hong Kong banks will be delayed during this period. Details are as follows:
Bank closure
- Oct 17 (Sat) – Oct 18 (Sun), 2026: Weekend ; no settlement, as usual
- Oct 19 (Mon), 2026: Hong Kong public holiday (the day following Chung Yeung Festival); no settlement
Processing resumes
Normal processing resumes on Oct 20 (Tue), 2026, from 09:00 HKT (UTC+8).
Affected services
- Deposits to KGI Bank: Delayed. Funds sent during the closure will be credited in sequence after the bank resumes processing.
- Other deposits and withdrawals involving Hong Kong banks: Delayed. Deposits sent from Hong Kong bank accounts and withdrawals to Hong Kong bank accounts will be processed after banks resume.
