Dear UMX Clients,
Dear UMX Clients,
We’re pleased to announce that Early Access to UMX Hong Kong stock trading is now live as of October 8, 2026.
Users with an active UMX securities account can now trade eligible stocks and ETFs listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange through the UMX App or UMX Securities API, with both Hong Kong and US markets accessible through the same securities account.
1. Hong Kong Stock Trading: What’s Available
a. Trading Coverage and Features
Early Access supports ordinary shares and ETFs listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, excluding Hong Kong-listed crypto ETFs. Please refer to the UMX App and API documentation for the latest list of available securities.
Hong Kong and US securities are managed within the same UMX securities account, allowing users to manage funds, positions, and orders in one place. Hong Kong-listed securities are denominated in HKD, with prices, market values, and profits and losses displayed in HKD.
Margin trading, stock borrowing, and short selling are also available for eligible securities. Hong Kong stocks support same-day buying and selling (T+0 trading), while securities and cash settle on a T+2 basis in line with Hong Kong market rules.
b. Flexible Ways to Access Hong Kong Stock Buying Power
For users who already hold USD or digital assets, trading Hong Kong stocks does not have to start with converting funds into HKD.
Depending on the assets in your account, you can access Hong Kong stock buying power in several ways:
- Stablecoin Conversion & Transfer: Convert supported stablecoins in your crypto trading account into USD and transfer the funds to your securities account in one seamless flow.
- Borrow & Transfer (Crypto as Collateral): Use eligible digital assets as collateral to obtain new funds and transfer to your securities account for Hong Kong stock trading without selling your existing crypto holdings.
- Credit (Crypto as Collateral): Use eligible digital assets as collateral to increase securities buying power without selling or transferring the pledged assets.
- USD to HKD Conversion: Eligible securities account users can convert USD to HKD and use the resulting HKD cash to buy Hong Kong stocks.
- USD / US Stock Buying Power: Trade Hong Kong stocks using buying power supported by your USD balance or eligible US stock holdings, without converting to HKD in advance.
Financing terms, interest rates, margin requirements, and associated risks vary by method. Please refer to the relevant product pages and platform rules for details.

3. Risk Disclosure
This announcement is for general product information only and does not constitute an offer, solicitation, or investment advice.
Securities, digital assets, margin trading, stock borrowing and short selling, and collateral-backed credit all involve risk and may result in the partial or total loss of principal. Using financing, collateral, or cross-asset buying power may amplify losses from market movements and may result in margin calls or forced liquidation. Losses may be further amplified if both the value of the collateral and the value of the securities positions decline at the same time.
Before trading, users should carefully review the applicable trading rules, client agreements, and risk disclosures, and consider their own investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial circumstances.
Available products and securities, eligible collateral, collateral ratios, fees, interest rates, and user eligibility are subject to the rules and information displayed on the UMX platform.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in UMX.
